Women Behind the Wheel

Do you want to learn to drive a truck? (or upgrade to a bigger truck!)?

SRT Logistics and TransTrain have partnered to deliver the first ever Tasmanian “Women behind the Wheel” program.

This program is open to female applicants only and will provide quality training and support women to uncover options and prepare for a rewarding career in Transport and Logistics. In particular delivery truck driving roles.

“Women behind the Wheel” provides real work experience and a full industry introduction program. So, if you have ever thought that you would like to learn to drive a truck and explore career paths in the transport industry – now is the time to act! No experience in the transport industry is necessary as full training is provided. (You will need to hold a full manual car licence.)

The program includes individually tailored truck driver licence upgrade (up to B Double depending on your experience); SAFE Driving training, forklift licence training, industry skills and work experience placement for selected participants.

This program is heavily subsidised by Skills Tasmania through the Skills Fund Seasonal Industries Program. Program starts Thursday 1 September 2016 and will run for four weeks from SRT’s Brighton depot.
