Transport and Distribution

SRT Logistics offers comprehensive transport and distribution services to key markets in Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland, as well as national transport services to other states through our forwarding partners.

We have an extensive range of refrigerated and dry grocery equipment, which includes small delivery vans and B-Double trucks. Our fleet consists of 170 trucks on the road, comprising 80 small vans and heavy rigid vehicles, along with over 200 trailers and 120 40-foot reefer containers.

SRT Logistics’ coverage of Tasmania is unmatched. We service every corner of the state from our three distribution facilities. Our operations run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We directly employ our staff and only utilise labour hire during peak seasons. This ensures that we have carefully selected individuals and a dedicated fleet providing premium service to our customers.

In Victoria, our transport services are managed from our distribution centre in Laverton North, which also serves as the hub for logistics planning and coordination of all shipping services to and from Tasmania. SRT Logistics is the only provider capable of offering a refrigerated door-to-door freight service across the entire island.

Warehousing

SRT Logistics operates four distribution centres: Brighton (South), Western Junction (North), and Quoiba (North West Coast) in Tasmania, as well as Laverton North in Victoria.

All our sites feature dedicated refrigerated storage and have refrigerated cross-docking environments with sealed loading docks to maintain the temperature integrity of perishable goods. Each location offers chilled, frozen, and dry storage options. Our teams of dedicated warehouse professionals provide storage, pick and pack, as well as cross-docking and deconsolidation services. 

We manage warehousing and distribution functions for some of Australia’s leading food brands, including Woolworths, Simplot, Inghams, Bega, and Asahi Beverages, among others. We are committed to ensuring that our customers’ goods are handled in high-quality facilities that meet the most stringent standards. All our sites are regularly audited, and we maintain accreditations with HACCP, WQA, YUM Brands, and others.

Trans Bass Shipping

In 2007, SRT Logistics expanded from providing intra-state transport within Tasmania to offering refrigerated transport services across Bass Strait in partnership with TT-Line.

In 2010, SRT extended Bass trait shipping partnerships to include Searoad Shipping. Searoad now handles a significant portion of our shipping volume and offers a service that compliments TT-Line, catering to the regular shipping needs of our company owned 40-foot reefer containers as well as roll-on/roll-off trailers. 

Recently, due to a growing client base and increasing shipping volumes, we have further expanded our partnerships to include Straitlink Shipping. With the support of TT-Line, Searoad, and Straitlink, we can provide a reliable Trans Bass service that meets and often exceeds our customers’ expectations. 

With our shipping partners, SRT provides a six-day-a-week service year-round, and seven days a week during peak season. By utilising all three shipping lines, we gain access to two key ports, ensuring redundancy and safeguarding against potential disruptions. 

Our shipping fleet consists of over 200 units equipped with Cooltrax live monitoring system. This system provides GPS tracking and, most importantly, live data from the refrigeration units, allowing us to monitor the environment within each unit and ensure that our customers' goods are transported in optimal condition.

New South Wales Services

Since we started shipping premium goods from Tasmania to our customers in Victoria and beyond in 2007, we have partnered with key logistics providers across Australia to reach markets outside of Victoria.

In September 2022, we decided to operate our own fleet between Melbourne and Sydney. We firmly believe that no one can deliver our customers' precious Tasmanian produce as reliably as we can. 

Over the past two years, our operation has grown and thrived. We now have a dedicated refrigerated fleet, including A and B doubles, traveling the highway seven days a week to ensure our customers’ premium produce is handled and delivered door-to-door in the safest and most efficient way possible.

Additionally, with SRT Logistics staff on the ground in Sydney managing local deliveries, we guarantee that our clients' produce is delivered to market safely, in full, at the correct temperature, and on time.

Queensland Services

As we continue to grow and enhance our capabilities for our clients, we are dedicated to finding financially sustainable and reliable ways to meet their needs. In early 2024, SRT Logistics leveraged our expanding shipping container fleet to introduce a new service for key customers: a direct container service from Tasmania via road, ship, and rail directly to Brisbane. 

Our local team in Brisbane manages and executes the collection of containers from the rail head, ensuring the timely delivery of our clients' goods. Additionally, we are equipped to collect shipments from Brisbane bound for Melbourne or Tasmania.
